Private Treaties

How to manage private treaty property sales in the Bamboo dashboard.

What is a Private Treaty?

A private treaty sale is the traditional method of selling property where the price is negotiated directly between the seller and buyer, rather than through an auction process. Bamboo supports private treaty sales alongside auctions, allowing you to manage both from a single dashboard.

The Private Treaty feature may need to be enabled for your organisation. If you don't see it in your sidebar, contact your account manager.

Viewing Private Treaties

Navigate to Private Treaty > View All in the sidebar. The list displays all your private treaty properties with their current status, pricing, and activity.

Adding a Private Treaty Property

  1. Navigate to Private Treaty > Add Private Treaty in the sidebar.
  2. Complete the property form across the following tabs:

Listing Tab

Configure the sale listing:

  • Guide price - The asking price for the property.
  • Offer deadline - Optionally set a deadline for best-and-final offers.

Property Tab

Enter the property details:

  • Title and description.
  • Property type, room counts, tenure, and EPC rating.

Location Tab

  • Full address and postcode.
  • Map coordinates for the property location.

Editing a Private Treaty

Click on any private treaty property in the list to open it for editing. Update the details across the tabbed form and save your changes.

Managing Offers

When buyers submit offers on a private treaty property, you can view and manage them directly from the property detail page. This allows you to:

  • Review all offers received.
  • Accept or reject offers.
  • Communicate with buyers through the platform.

Converting a Private Treaty

Once an offer is accepted and the sale progresses, you can update the property status to reflect the current stage of the transaction, from under offer through to sold.
