What is Realtime Bidding Activity?
Realtime Bidding Activity is an AuctionPro feature that gives you a live view of what buyers are doing on your auction listings as it happens. Instead of waiting for a bid to come in, you can see the entire journey - from a buyer watching the property through to placing their bid.
How It Works
Each active property on the Overview page shows a real-time count of users currently engaging with it. When you drill into a property, you can see individual bidder activity with a visual heat map showing exactly where each buyer is in the bidding process.
Bidder Status Stages
Each bidder's progress is shown as a heat bar that moves through four stages:
| Stage | What It Means |
|---|---|
| Watching | The buyer is viewing the property listing. |
| Entering Bid, Accepting Terms | The buyer has opened the bid dialog and is reviewing terms. |
| Awaiting Bid Confirmation | The buyer has entered a bid amount and is about to confirm. |
| Placed Bid | The buyer has successfully placed a bid. |
The heat bar changes colour as the bidder progresses, from yellow (watching) through to green (bid placed), giving you an instant visual indicator of how close a buyer is to bidding.
Why It Matters
This real-time visibility allows you to:
- Identify hot prospects - See buyers who are actively engaging but haven't yet bid, and follow up with them.
- Gauge auction momentum - Understand how much active interest a property has before the auction ends.
- Time your outreach - If a buyer has been watching for a while but hasn't bid, a well-timed call can help secure their participation.
- Report to vendors - Share live engagement data with your sellers to demonstrate the level of interest in their property.
Where to Find It
Realtime bidding activity is visible in two places:
- Overview page - The live properties table shows a Realtime column with the current count of active users on each property.
- Property detail page - Open any active property to see the full breakdown of individual bidder activity with heat maps.
Requirements
- An active AuctionPro subscription on the branch.
- Properties must be in an active auction state to show real-time data.
